What people most often ask before handing over a file privacy, size limits, and when quality actually drops.
Are my files really not uploaded?
They really aren't. All the processing uses your browser's own capabilities. You can confirm it yourself: open the Network tab in DevTools, run the tool, and you won't see a single request carrying your file's contents. There's no queue to wait in, and no copy is left anywhere once you close the tab.
Is there a file size limit?
None from us, because there's no server receiving anything. The limit comes from your device's memory: a few-hundred-page document is usually fine on a laptop, while an older phone will run out of breath sooner.
Why isn't the compressed file much smaller sometimes?
It depends on what's inside. A PDF made of text is already dense, so there's only so much to squeeze. The ones that shrink dramatically are scans and photo-heavy PDFs, because those images can have their resolution brought down.
My PDF is locked can it be opened?
Yes, as long as you know the password the tool removes the lock, it doesn't guess it. That's what you need for a bank statement or e-statement that asks for a password every time you open it. The password you type is used only in this tab's memory, and it's gone the moment the page closes.
Can I use it without internet?
You can. Pages you've opened before are stored on your device, so the tools keep running even when the connection drops. Processing the files never needed the network anyway.
